Our skilled instructors create a safe and exciting environment where children can learn the art of surfing while building confidence and having fun. From mastering the basics to catching their first waves, our kids' surf lessons are designed to spark a lifelong love for the ocean and the thrill of surfing.
Games to warm up and to make the learning experience fun. Kids will learn about balance techniques and basic techniques
All kids group lessons are 6 kids maximum to ensure they learn in a safe environment. Following ISA rules and in addition to that, all teachers are lifeguards

Find answers to frequently asked questions about our surf lessons.
For our surf lessons, we recommend bringing a towel, sunscreen, and a swimsuit. Ideally also your greatest smile and good vibes. We provide the surfboards and wetsuits.
We provide you with the neccessary equipment like surfboard, wetsuite and a rash vest. For groupe and private lessons the transport to and from the beach is included as well. Departing from Jah Shaka Shop in Old Town Lagos. We'll choose the beach which provides the best conditions on the day. For every booking, you also receive a 10% discount on any products at the Jah Shaka Surf Shop (Offer not available on selected technical products, rentals and other activities).
You must be able to swim (Kids Surf Lessons are guided by an instructor with a lifeguard training). Lessons are normally in English, but we do also offer Portuguese, German and French speaking. Please mention this option when you book the activity.
Our surf lessons are suitable for participants aged 8 and above. Children under 16 years can enroll in our tailored Kids Surf Lessons.
To schedule a surf lesson, simply contact our team or visit our shop in Lagos. We will assist you in finding a suitable time slot. Please note that bookings should be done at least 24h before the day you want to go surfing, in our shop or online. Lessons are available all year round except on 25th of December and 1rst of January.
Yes, we offer surfboard rentals for those who prefer to practice on their own. Our staff can provide recommendations based on your skill level. Check out our Rentalspage.
