Our day starts at 8:30 AM at the surf shop, with the session running until 3:30 or 4:00 PM, depending on the day's surf conditions. You’ll not only improve your surfing skills but also get to see beautiful beaches, handpicked by our instructors for the best waves. It’s a fantastic way to learn, make new friends, and experience the magic of surfing.

For advanced surfers looking to elevate their skills, our Surf Guiding is the perfect choice. Explore the South West side of the Algarve, known for its stunning and renowned surfing beaches. With our knowledgeable surf guides, you'll find the best waves that match your skill level, ensuring an exhilarating day of surfing. Our groups are small, with a maximum of four people, tailored for good intermediate to advanced surfers. Additionally, advanced surfers can opt for our Video Analysis service. With waves nearly all year round, the Algarve offers a variety of spots suitable for refining your technique. Find answers to frequently asked questions about our surf lessons.
For our surf lessons, we recommend bringing a towel, sunscreen, and a swimsuit. Ideally also your greatest smile and good vibes. We provide the surfboards and wetsuits.
We provide you with the neccessary equipment like surfboard, wetsuite and a rash vest. For groupe and private lessons the transport to and from the beach is included as well. Departing from Jah Shaka Shop in Old Town Lagos. We'll choose the beach which provides the best conditions on the day. For every booking, you also receive a 10% discount on any products at the Jah Shaka Surf Shop (Offer not available on selected technical products, rentals and other activities).
You must be able to swim (Kids Surf Lessons are guided by an instructor with a lifeguard training). Lessons are normally in English, but we do also offer Portuguese, German and French speaking. Please mention this option when you book the activity.
Our surf lessons are suitable for participants aged 8 and above. Children under 16 years can enroll in our tailored Kids Surf Lessons.
To schedule a surf lesson, simply send us a booking request via our website, contact our team or visit our shop in Lagos. We will assist you in finding a suitable time slot. Please note that bookings should be done at least 24h before the day you want to go surfing, in our shop or online. Lessons are available all year round except on 25th of December and 1rst of January.
Yes, we offer surfboard rentals for those who prefer to practice on their own. Our staff can provide recommendations based on your skill level. Check out our Rentalspage.
